The Power of Music Education

I am driven by my love of music, education, and the many proofs that the study of music can strengthen the development of the individual physically, emotionally, and intellectually providing a holistically rewarding and beneficial opportunity. Neurological and developmental studies indicate that the study of a musical instrument can effect positive and long lasting intellectual and cognitive benefits that extend beyond the specific skills music lessons seeks to develop. It is my privilege to do my best to foster a love of music in my students by creating a learning environment that is fun, empowering, and highly effective at fostering passion, personal development, and keyboard skills.

My music school is dedicated to providing a high-quality classical music education with a focus on classically inspired curriculum emphasizing note reading, technique, music theory, and performance. My passion is to offer all of my students a comprehensive and well-rounded music education that will enable them to develop learning habits that can be carried into all aspects of their lives, and musical skills that will allow them to enjoy the music of their choice with ease and confidence. It is through the foundational skill acquisition found in the classical tradition that students will acquire the knowledge to pursue the musical style of their choice including but not limited to the classical repertoire, jazz and popular music. Students are actively encouraged to learn music of their own selection alongside and supplementing music from selected teaching methodologies including but not limited to Faber, FJH, Kieth Snell, and Royal Conservatory collections. In addition, I will individually select classical repertoire curated to the interests, skill development needs, and personal style preferences of the individual. In addition to private lessons, there will also be the opportunity to participate in workshops and masterclasses for advanced students who want to further their skills. Access to solo performance programs, collaborative performance opportunities, and state and nationalized assessment boards and performance programs such as, The California Association of Professional Music Teachers (CAPMT), The Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM), and The Royal Schools of Music (ARBSM) will be offered but not mandatory. In addition, I will provide music theory and music history classes for those students expressing an interest in expanding their theoretical knowledge of all musical styles.
